Symbol Removal based on Priority

This task allows to define a priority order when placing symbols.

For every symbol you define a numerical priority. Symbols will be placed in the defined order beginning with the number 1, then 2, etc, "1" meaning highest priority and "20" the lowest.

Then for each task you define a parameter which determines a zone of tolerance around the insertion point of the symbols. When two symbols are in conflict (when their zones of tolerance cross each other) the symbol with the weakest priority will be removed. For example, if a symbol with a priority 3 is in conflict with a symbol with a priority 4, the symbol with a priority 4 is not placed.

Tolerance search radius to considere conflict between symbols.

After removal, move remaining symbol to the center position of initial symbols

            • yes: all symbols in conflict are deleted and replaced by only ONE symbol. The new insertion point is at the "middle" of all insertion points of removed symbols.

            • no: kept symbols is not moved.

            • no: associated text is not removed even if the symbol is removed.

Examples

Example 1

 

These two symbols are in conflict even if their drawings are not superimposed, because their zones of tolerance are crossing (the red point represents the insertion point of symbols).

 

In this case, the "car-park" symbol has a priority 1 and the other symbol has a priority 2. The "car-park" symbol is placed and the other one is removed.

Example 2

In this example, the drawings of the two symbols are superimposed but their zones of tolerance are not crossing. So the two symbols are placed (the red point represents the insertion point of symbols).
